Noční divertimento

The representatives of the Association of Czech Bibliophiles, the chairman of the Association, Petr Ladman and the vice-chairman, Filip Hynek, chose the Vojtěch Preissig Prize laureate, which is awarded by the Association of Czech Bibliophiles in Prague as part of the Most Beautiful Book of the Year. The following book titles were runners up. Reginaldo Prandi Ukradený déšť a jiné příběhy z Amazonie, (Stolen rain and other stories of the Amazon), illustrated by students of the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, published by Baobab publishers. The second runner up book, which drew attention for its typography, illustrations, typesetting and binding, was Nezval’s Manon Lescaut by student Veronika Švédová, published by the College and Secondary School of Graphics (VPŠG) Hellichova in Prague. The only above average book in the Bibliophile category is Jaroslav Seifert’s Noční divertimento (Night Divertimento). The printing and typo is by Bohuslav Šír, published by Kateřina and Marek Staš. 280 numbered copies, 80 copies of which printed on Fabriano paper, decorated with three original graphic sheets using a com-bined technique by Karel Musil. The book is encased in hand half-leather binding.
