Letter to Vojtěch Jirát (1940)

Dear Doctor Jirát,
My heartfelt thanks for your remarkable pace. The book is just as I imagined it. I wrote from it one poem for your purposes and no longer need it. Please return it; Don’t waste your money on that book.
Right after returning from visiting you, I suffered a severe rheumatic attack in my knee, so I won’t be going anywhere for the time being. This is just for your information, in case you wanted something.
I have just received my copy of Věčný Mácha (Eternal Mácha) and shall read your essay first.
Cordially yours,
Pavel Eisner
