My Dear Colleague,
I thought that you had already included me, upon my request, among “the friends of Kritický měsíčník (The Critical Monthly)”, and therefore did not write you. But since Mr. Janský keeps asking whether I’ve sent the application, etc., I am doing so now in what I hope is an acceptable manner – I am applying to the Circle of Friends of Kritický měsíčník.
I will send the review of Jaroslav Humberger’s Brandl as soon as possible. I will also slowly but surely get to the article on German lyric poetry. Indeed, I have announced a reading on contemporary German literature and would like the interpretations of literature after 1933 to begin with an overview of lyric poetry. Anyways, that is why I have to study it. I have also bought some books of various poets that were previously unavailable.

I would very much like to speak with you again, even though I have nothing overly exciting to report. I kiss the hand of your dear lady.
